Sugar Cookie Books is a book publishing imprint created and owned by Tiffany Obeng. Our mission is to educate, inspire and normalize. We publish books featuring African American characters to fill a gap in literary media. Did you know? There are more children's books featuring animals than people of color.
We publish books placing Black characters in workspaces where they have historically been absent to inspire their futures. And we publish books of Black children and their families in normal everyday situations. In this way, all children, especially Black boys, are normalized, humanized, and the world can be made a safer place for them.
Tiffany Obeng is the principal author at Sugar Cookie Books. Her young son and baby daughter are often the inspiration behind her children's picture books. Her books include popular and bestselling kids' career books Andrew Learns about Lawyers and Andrew Learns about Engineers; popular season books Winnie Loves Winter and Spencer Knows Spring and popular honesty book Scout's Honor.
Tiffany is a native of Houston and currently resides in Houston with her husband (both Sam Houston State University alum), son and daughter.
