Camps by KT is a cornerstone of elevation for the youth of the Houston, TX community! Providing innovative, and fun holiday, and summer day camps for 10 years and counting! Each year the goal is to get campers thinking, moving, exploring, and creating. That’s why so many parents trust in us to help kids build the mindset they need to thrive, now and in the future. Camps by KT offers self-empowerment, public speaking, fine arts, science, engineering, and cooking classes. Knowing the importance of our youths understanding of the many elements that the world has to offer, Kellie decided to create a program that is not only fun, but also a powerful movement of awareness for our youth.
We first began contracting with daycares such as Kids R Kids and Primrose providing enrichment services. In 2010, we began sub-contracting with Houston ISD and Pasadena ISD; providing after school enrichment. Some of the schools that were served; River Oaks Elementary, Oak Forest Elementary, Mark Twain Elementary, and Valley West Elementary! We also began to lead summer art classes at Lone Star College. Camps by KT is now offering holiday, and youth summer day camps at BounceU and Pump It Up facilities Camps by KT owner; Kellie Thomas first introduced services to Houston, TX in 2007. Her Great-Great Grandfather, J.R.E. Lee served as the third president of Florida A&M University (FAMU) and also founded the National Association of Teachers in Colored Schools! With that being said she comes from five generations of proud educators…it’s no wonder why her first love is education, and our youth!
